Conceptual resources I'm currently digesting

If you want info for pages without an OK status see suggestions: Concepts and ideas used or mis-used in our thinking and speaking

I've done about all I'm going to do in terms of adding new books.

The two processes below can be found on the Conceptual resource digestion process page.

Digestion process (an abbreviated view)

A starting point: a source document (The World Is Full Of Options)

• Create a table of contents document that can be reviewed for areas of future time investment. Add this document to the TLN site along with links to other related documents, Google and Amazon.

• Review each Scrivener sub-document. Add keywords, document notes, references to external documents, and highlight key phrases. Clip key ideas (using Mac OS X services) to an outliner application (Circus Ponies NoteBook, NoteTaker, and sometimes OmniOutliner). These smaller bite sized notes are similar to mind map phrasing and are structured accordingly. This structure makes integration with other resources easier and can be the jumping off point for calendarization. This calendarization can be integrated with David Allen's Getting Things Done or OmniFocus.

Implementation process (FYI)

The purpose of the foregoing work is to provide an informed launching pad to implement something valuable in the outside world—directly or through some contribution to others.

The digestion process outlined above introduced the idea of calendarization. Part of this calendarization process involves harvesting action ideas from conceptual resources and working them into specific action steps.

This workflow may involve several types of tools:

Career and Life Guidance from Peter Drucker

A core tool is needed that lists all work areas with their supporting work modules.

Conceptual resources (plus a few others I haven't listed) in the digestion process (99 percent finished)

“The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not turbulence; it is to act with yesterday’s logic”. — Peter Drucker

The shift from manual workers who do as they are being told — either by the task or by the boss — to knowledge workers who have to manage themselves ↓ profoundly challenges social structure

Managing Oneself is a REVOLUTION in human affairs.” … “It also requires an almost 180-degree change in the knowledge workers’ thoughts and actions from what most of us—even of the younger generation—still take for granted as the way to think and the way to act.” …

… “Managing Oneself is based on the very opposite realities: Workers are likely to outlive organizations (and therefore, employers can’t be depended on for designing your life), and the knowledge worker has mobility.” ← in a context

These pages are attention directing tools for navigating a world moving toward unimagined futures.

It’s up to you to figure out what to harvest and calendarize
working something out in time (1915, 1940, 1970 … 2040 … the outer limit of your concern)nobody is going to do it for you.

It may be a step forward to actively reject something (rather than just passively ignoring) and then figure out a coping plan for what you’ve rejected.

Your future is between your ears and our future is between our collective ears — it can’t be otherwise. A site exploration starting point
