It is widely believed that 60-80 percent of jobs (and other opportunities) come through networking.

Its not the people you know, but the people that the people you know know and then the people they know.

It is the entire extended network.

A person’s performance reputation is fundamental to the willingness to recommend someone.

Performance is somewhat of a subjective idea and may require stealthfully educating others.

Networking is a life-long activity in an unfolding world (2020, 2030 …).

The resources listed below suggest the potential breadth involved. (calendarize this?)

Putting together your life-long, extended networking system involves collecting and organizing information.

Some kind of structured note-taking system for harvesting and organizing ideas is valuable in this kind of work.

I’m a Mac user.

I personally use OmniOutliner Pro, MindNode Pro (there is a free non-pro version), Scrivener, and DEVONthink Pro.

Unless you need a heavy article archiving solution, Scrivener should do the job (there’s a Windows version).
